We work with suppliers in Pakistan, India, China, Turkey, Italy, and Portugal. We have been working with some of them for more than ten years. We place great value on a strong, long-term partnership. Trust and shared values are very important in this regard. Only in this way can we develop quality products together. 

IBANA's Code of Conduct
AAs a fundamental part of our collaboration, we have developed a Code of Conduct. We ask our suppliers to comply with this Code of Conduct at all times. The Code of Conduct is based on the conventions of the UN's International Labour Organization (ILO) and the UN's Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The document ensures compliance with fundamental ethical principles that are often under pressure in the clothing industry, namely: no child labor, compliance with statutory working hours and minimum wage requirements, freedom of association, and a safe and healthy working environment.

IBANA's Factory Audit Program
Sourcing from different countries involves different risks, some more serious and more likely than others. External social standards, audits, and visits help monitor compliance with the Code of Conduct, assess business practices, and identify risks. That is why we have an audit program in which we ask factories to undergo audits according to external standards such as BSCI, Sedex, or SA8000. Most of the factories we work with have been audited according to these standards. For factories that have not yet done so, we help them as much as possible to undergo an audit. 

For factories that have not yet undergone an external audit, we visit them ourselves to conduct an internal audit. We also visit our key factories that have undergone an external audit. This internal audit aligns with our Code of Conduct and ILO guidelines. This visit is not only an audit, but also a conversation in which we want to hear from the factory about the challenges they face, the risks involved, and how we can improve together. We already do this in Pakistan and China, and in 2023 we will expand this to India and Turkey. 

With this approach, we have a better understanding of the situation in the factories and can discuss any areas for improvement with our suppliers.
